We sure had a blast this Christmas as we celebrated with our family. Although we didn't spend Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa's like we usually do, we still kept most of the traditions alive at our own house. Christmas Eve was at mom and dad's this year since the grandparents moved and we stuffed ourselves full of prime rib and all the entrees you could think of. Little smokies were definitely on the table as well as clam chowder, orange rolls and chocolate fondue! We played a holiday trivia game which ended in the victorious triumph of my hubby, followed by a close second (one point behind Ryan) tie between Aunt Laurie and Nick. Santa and Mrs. Claus made an appearance and had us all singing Christmas carols. We also had the nativity, read by Rye and acted out by all the cousins. We opened cousin gifts, and presents from grandma and grandpa and then called it a night so we could get to bed before Santa arrived.
Christmas Eve
Christmas morning came soon but Jack Jack was still tired from the night before(he went to bed at 10)! So his Uncle Josh and mommy and daddy decided to wake him up at about 7 30 or so. He was a little tired as he made his way down the stairs, but once he saw the presents, his attitude changed real quick! When someone was handed a gift, he said "jackson's present?" and then proceeded to help them open it. He got a little tired half way through, so we saved some of his presents for the afternoon. His highlights included a buzz lightyear, handy manny, a train set, cars, and lots of other little toys. The clothes got thrown aside as he politely said, "no thank you!" Ryan scored some nike fit shoes with the sensor inside to go with his iphone, von zipper sunglasses, byu gear, and others. I got the entire series of Friends on dvd, a nixon watch, and a really nice pea coat from banana republic. All in all, we spoiled each other! It sure was fun, but we missed our loved ones in VA and Corinne & Matt in San Diego. We did get to talk to Ryan's fam for a while and Jackson sang Jingle Bells to everyone he talked to!
